Kommentar: DC Comics bjuder på en helt ny ”pop-up line” med skräcktitlar med Joe Hill som spindeln i nätet. Joe Hill har under hela sin karriär kämpat för att nå framgång på sina egna meriter (han är ju trots allt son till Stephen King, skräckmästaren själv) och han har också lyckats med råge, bland annat med den mycket läsvärda följetongen Locke and Key som dyker upp lite längre ner i detta inlägg. Hill House Comics är helt i min smak och jag kommer lätt utforska både Basketful of Heads och etikettens övriga kommande titlar.

Kommentar: Om jag nämner serieskaparen Lisa Woods namn är det inte många som hajar till men om jag istället använder hennes pseudonym Tula Lotay så tror jag hon är känd av många. 2007 startade hon den brittiska seriefestivalen Thought Bubble som nu blivit en av världens mest prestigefyllda seriefestivaler, vilket också uppmärksammades vid årets Eisnergala där Lisa Wood tilldelades priset Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award för sina storartade insatser när det gäller festivalen. En månad innan årets upplaga av festivalen går av stapeln (9-10 november) är det också dags att sätta tänderna i festivalens årliga antologinummer som publiceras av Image Comics.

Kommentar: Första volymen av Spell on Wheels var en trevlig överraskning och jag blev mycket glad när jag såg att serien nu äntligen får en fortsättning. Jag gillar verkligen den pågående trenden med nya häxserier och även om jag föredrar ett mörkare anslag jämfört med den lite lättsammare Spell on Wheels så är den väl värd att utforska.

Kommentar: Efter många om och men har jag äntligen börjat läsa Locke and Key av Joe Hill och Gabriel Rodríguez. Jag älskar serien och vill aldrig att den ska ta slut och jag blev därför extra glad när jag såg denna one-shot som tar oss tillbaka till denna läskigt underbara värld. Dessutom är jag sjukt taggad på den kommande TV-serien från Netflix som spelades in under året i Kanada och som förhoppningsvis snart dyker upp i en enhet nära dig.
